Intro to Closed Circuit Rebreathers
Intro to Closed Circuit Rebreathers is a comprehensive course introducing divers to the fundamentals of Closed Circuit Rebreather (CCR) diving. This course is very interactive and hands-on, as you will be engaging in classroom demonstrations, and actually building & testing the rebreathers to be used in the pool session. The pool dives will provide you with the opportunity to dive several different closed circuit rebreathers…this is not your typical quickie demo. You will have plenty of time to dive the rebreathers.
Space is very limited in order to keep the class size small. Smaller class size provides YOU with more time to ask questions, and more time underwater.
7-9:30pm, Classroom Seminar
8:30-10:30am, CCR Assembly & Prep
10:30-11:30am, quick lunch and travel time to pool
12 Noon – 2pm, Pool Dives
2-3pm, Cleanup and Debrief
Your instructor Ron Benson has been diving and teaching rebreathers for over 20 years and has traveled the nation to train dive centers, instructors, and divers. He has traveled the world to attend rebreather conferences, and has sponsored CCR specific dive travel from Truk Lagoon to shipwrecks in the Great Lakes.
If you are considering an investment of $8-10,000 in life support for a rebreather, or you simply want to learn more about this technology then join us May 2-3 at the Underwater Connection. Course fee is $80 and covers all classroom, handouts, pool, demo use of rebreathers, CO2 absorbent, oxygen, diluent, and sanitation. Divers only need to provide pool equipment; suit, towel, mask, fins.
