Whenever we are out and about, we often get questions on how to get scuba certified. Well, the answer is pretty easy!
Scuba Certification: What are the steps?
Getting certified as an Open Water Diver requires the following:

- View the Open Water DVD
- Complete the Knowledge Reviews in the Manual

- Pass the final written exam (50 questions, based on the book)
Complete the pool training portion of the course
* 5 modules covering basic scuba information, such as how to assemble the gear, proper use, basic emergency procedures, attaining proper buoyancy control, proper breathing and clearing techniques
Complete 4 open water dives with an Instructor
* During these dives, you will demonstrate to the Instructor the skills taught during the pool portion of the course as well as your ability to dive safely with a buddy.
* You will also complete some basic underwater navigation exercises using a compass.
* Once the four dives are successfully completed, the Instructor certifies you as an Open Water Diver
Once Certified as an Open Water Diver:
* You are limited to a recommended maximum depth of 60 feet.
* You are recommended to always dive within your abilities and training
* You always dive under conditions that are as good or better than those in which you were trained
We run the course over two weekends. The classroom and pool portions are one weekend, and each store has a varied schedule of times, as an example at Delafield we meet Friday 6pm to 11pm, Saturday 10am to 5:30pm, Sunday 9am to 1pm, and the open water dives are done the next weekend, but this can change based on the student's schedule. We have the ability to complete the open water dives almost anytime during the summer months. We can modify portions of the course to fit other groups like the Scouts; we can discuss possible schedules.
Course costs: Complete Open Water certification: $319.00.(Includes all classroom materials (manual, DVD, Dive Planner, logbook, equipment bag) as well as all scuba gear for the pool and open water. Student to provide their own mask, snorkel, fins, boots. You can get more details on schedules at the store website
