The PADI Master Scuba Diver certification represents the highest non-professional certification in the PADI system of diver education.

The purpose of the Master Scuba Diver rating is to:

• Provide divers with a worthwhile goal. The wide variety of experiences gained while pursuing this training provides a solid foundation for both the enthusiastic recreational diver and those headed up the leadership path.
• Recognize divers for gaining a broad base of experience in a number of diving specialties. This is especially important for traveling divers, as it shows dive resorts that you have more experience than the average recreational diver.

• For those looking to move to the professional ranks of Divemaster and above, having the experience of the Master Scuba Diver rating makes you a more valuable instructional assistant.

What are the prerequisites for achieving the Master Scuba Diver rating?

• Minimum Age 15 yrs.
• PADI Advanced Open Water certification.
• PADI Rescue Diver certification.
• 5 PADI Specialty Diver certifications.
• 50 logged open water dives
