2009 Local Trips and Events Isle Royale Wreck Diving June 25-30
Calling all Wreck Divers!!!
We are headed back up to the pristine waters around Isle Royale! This trip will be for wreck divers of all skill levels. We will be attempting to dive such shipwrecks such as the America (2ft-80ft), the Emperor (25ft-175ft), the Monarch (10ft-80ft), the Congdon (60ft-120ft), and many more. We will travel up to Grand Marais on June 25th. After spending the night in the local hotel, we will board the our liveaboard vessel on the morning of the 26th. After we make the crossing to Isle Royale, we start diving like crazy!!! While onboard our boat, all airfills, and meals are included...and let me tell you...we eat well on this trip! Each day our routine is the same...dive, eat, sleep, dive, eat, dive, eat, dive, sleep. Provided the weather cooperates, we usually get in 3-4 dives per day. After 4 days out on the water, we will return to land on the 29th, and spend one more night in Grand Marais. June 30th will be our travel day back home. For Great Lakes Wreck Divers, this really is a MUST-DO trip. Incredible shipwrecks, awesome visibility, good food...this trip is just too FUN to pass up. Only 5 spots are left. $975 per diver. Isle Royale Trimix Trip, July 1-6, 2009
Come explore the deeper wrecks of Isle Royale!!! Open Circuit and CCR divers welcome!
We will be planning to dive the Kamloops, Emperor, Congdon, and several other shipwrecks.
Depth ranges will range from 80ft to 260ft. Each diver can bring 2 sets of doubles (or your CCR), 1-2 deco cylinders.
5 divers maximum. (Trimix certification required, Advanced Trimix strongly suggested)
$1200 per diver (includes 2 nights hotel, and the liveaboard charter).
Meals and beverages are included while on the boat. General Itinerary
July 1 - drive up, stay overnight in hotel
July 2 - board boat, head over to Isle Royale, start diving...
July 3, 4 - dive, eat, sleep, dive eat, sleep, repeat...
July 5 - dive, eventually head back to the mainland, stay overnight in hotel
July 6 - drive home Argon, Helium, and Oxygen are NOT included.
They will be provided by the charter, but you at the end of the charter you will need to pay for your fills.
For those of you who have not done this trip before, it is simply spectacular. We are essentially living on the boat for 4 days, and diving our brains out in the crystal-clear waters of Lake Superior. Capt. Brian is absolutely fantastic, both as a Captain, and as a cook! We eat VERY, VERY well on this trip.
